Friday, May 30th, 2008Sandia, Los Alamos, the State of New Mexico, Intel, and some other folks have gotten together and built a very large supercomputing cluster. Named Encanto, the cluster is composed of over 1,700 dual 3GHz Xeon quad core processor nodes- that’s 8 CPUs per node, over 14,000 CPUs in total.
