Aquarium Madness

posted by emily

Papa was generous and treated us to a visit to the Atlanta Aquarium. It was just as incredible as I remembered, except minus the amazing Beluga whales (they were moved for renovations) and plus 1000 CheerSport participants and their very enthusiastic moms. Hair ribbons and sparkly eyeshadow followed by ill-fitting sweatsuits. The people watching was delicious. V loved it, she rode on a mermaid and a fish, ate some $10 chicken strips, pointed at brightly colored things and made lots of oooh sounds. She also became pretty adept at stealing things from passing strollers. I had to return a few juice boxes and pacifiers. We had a really great time. Afterward, we visited Shelley and Jeff, and their lovely daughters Savanna and Diana (featured in the post from yesterday), and their holy-cow ginormous dog Buck. Unfortunately none of the pictures with Shelley and Buck turned out. Buck was very sweet with V and V thought Buck was the bees knees. When he was put out on the back porch to stop him from eating the crab dip, she kept pulling up the screen, pointing and laughing and saying Dah! (dog). After a little while, the day got to be too much and she fell asleep, snoring, in Matt’s lap. Pretty great day.

She’s happier than she looks

You crammed a lot of visiting and experiences into a couple days. I can understand a tired face. I am so glad you all were able to get together.

Her tiny hands on the glass make such a compelling picture.
